A document and a security statement revealed the crime of kidnapping five residents of the Yafea district in Lahj by members of the so-called Amjad Khaled in the southern countryside of Taiz.
The Security Department said, in a statement, that 5 of Yafea's sons, who were on a tour to the city of al-Turbah, were kidnapped by members of the Transportation Brigade, led by Amjad Khaled, about two weeks ago.
It added that the security committee in the Shamaytain district met last Friday with the commander of the transportation brigade, Amjad Khaled, and agreed with him to "hand over the abductees and punish the perpetrators of the kidnapping crime."
What the security in Taiz said, the Brotherhood media lied indirectly, by publishing a document confirming that the release of the abductees was based on an agreement between the leadership of the Taiz axes and the so-called Tur Al-Baha axis loyal to the Brotherhood and the leadership of the Transport Brigade, with some notables and sheikhs from Al-Sabiha and Yafea’.
The agreement provides for the handing over of the abducted sons of Yafea in return for forming a committee of military leaders, sheikhs and notables to follow up on the file of "the detainees in the prison of the Fifth Brigade camp in Lahj governorate," one of the military formations of the Southern Transitional Council.
The document reveals the aim of the militia of Amjad Khaled to kidnap the sons of Yafea, by trying to exchange them for elements belonging to the man who are being held in the prisons of the Fifth Brigade, and it is also considered a legitimization of the crime of kidnapping carried out by the militia.
The document refutes the allegations of security in Taiz, who talked about his agreement with Amjad Khaled to "hand over the abductees and punish the perpetrators of the crime of kidnapping," as it explicitly refers to describing them as detainees and not as abductees.
This incident brought to the fore the file of the presence of hundreds of terrorist and wanted elements in the city of Al-Turbah and the southern countryside of Taiz, led by the so-called Amjad Khaled, since its defeat from Aden and Lahj in the events of 2019 AD at the hands of the Southern Transitional Council forces.
The security authorities in Aden broadcast confessions of those accused of assassinations and car bombings in the city, most notably the assassination of Major General Thabet Jawas, revealing that Amjad Khalid was behind these incidents.
Journalist Mahmoud Al-Atmi, who is one of those targeted by these crimes, commented on the incident by referring to the strong relationship between Amjad Khaled and the Houthi group, stressing that the man visits Sanaa from time to time.
Al-Atmi condemned what he described as the government's attempts, represented by Defense Minister Mohsen Al-Daari, to absorb Amjad Khaled and open lines of communication with him instead of investigating him for this crime, pointing out that the kidnapping incident came less than a week after the minister's visit to the man at his residence in the Al-Hujariyah area in the western countryside of Taiz. .
For his part, the southern journalist, Yasser Al-Yafei, said that Amjad Khaled and his gang "kidnapped the reputation of Taiz and the Turbah area and turned it into a den of terrorism," wondering: Where are the Turbah sheikhs and the army and government forces from these barbaric and terrorist actions?
The presence of Amjad Khaled's militiamen and militias is met with popular rejection by the people in the countryside of Taiz, after it was imposed by the military formations loyal to the Muslim Brotherhood, which handed over a number of their sites and camps to these elements.
The people demand that the local and governmental authorities continue to remove these elements from their areas, and refuse to turn them into a hotbed of terrorism and crime to target the security of the south and create enmity between the people of Taiz and the people of the south.
