National figure Faisal Al-Sufi.. Decades of educational, journalistic and political contributions

On Saturday, July 15, 2023, the Republic of Yemen bid farewell to the prominent national figure, writer and journalist, Faisal Al-Sufi, who passed away next to his Lord after a life full of serving the country.
Al-Soufi’s death came at the age of 63, after a bitter struggle with illness, where he underwent a successful liver transplant in India, but after he returned to the capital, Aden, his health condition deteriorated and he was transferred to intensive care after suffering kidney failure, as a result of which the new liver was damaged before passing away.
The deceased Faisal Al-Soufi, born in 1960, in the village of Irim, Al-Qubaita District, Lahj Governorate, is married and has six children, four sons: Nader, Shahdi, Haitham and Hafez, and two daughters: Buthaina and Al-Zahraa.
Writer and journalist Faisal Al-Sufi received his primary education at Al-Shaab Abous School, Taiz Governorate, and finished preparatory and high school in Sana’a, then obtained a bachelor’s degree from the College of Education, Department of Islamic Studies, Sana’a University in 1986.
After his graduation, the deceased worked as a teacher of Islamic education and Arabic language in Thabab Qabita schools, Lahj governorate, Kuwait High School in Al-Rahda, and Al-Kubra School in Taiz, before he was appointed principal of Al-Fath Abous School, Taiz Governorate.
After that, Al-Sufi moved to work in the court of Her Majesty, where he had a clear imprint in the tasks he assumed and the positions he held, including head of the investigations department of Al-Mithaq newspaper, then editor-in-chief of the newspaper, and deputy editor-in-chief of Al-Mawqif magazine, until he assumed the editor-in-chief of May 22 newspaper.
Politically, the deceased was a leader and an active journalist in the General People's Congress Party, in which he assumed the position of deputy director of the party's media center, before he participated in establishing the national resistance after the December 2 revolution and engaged in the front of exposing the forces of backwardness and darkness and exposing the crimes of the Houthi militia against the Yemenis.
The deceased also worked as a media advisor to the Minister of Education, and assumed the duties of the Executive Director of the Civil Society Forum Organization and the Editor-in-Chief of the legal magazine (Al-Qastas).
During his life, the deceased published five books and co-authored (11) books and periodic reports.
The deceased was characterized, according to what his colleagues, friends and loved ones told him, with simplicity and gentleness of morals, and was characterized by patriotism, toughness and courage, and devoted his life for the sake of the country and the defense of the Republic.
