Journalists Saleh Abu Awdhel (Abyan) and Ayman Bagash (Taiz) agree that the southern dialogue and the signing of the honor charter is the most important event in the Yemeni crisis in nine years on the road to uniting efforts to confront the Khomeini project in the north. And dust off the political stagnation that all initiatives failed to move towards ending Iran's hegemony over Sana'a.

However, this alignment needs patriotic and honest northern forces to complete the battle to liberate the south of the Arabian Peninsula from Iran and its armed arms, which is difficult, according to what Abu Awdhal sees. Because there is no clear vision for the northern forces opposed to the Houthis regarding resolving the southern issue in a just solution that satisfies its people and its political, social and cultural components, most of which have come under the umbrella of the Southern Transitional Council.

Journalist Abu Awdhel, head of the Eighth Day Foundation for Media and Studies, indicated that the south was the only one that was able to liberate and defend areas from the Houthi militia, Iran's arm, unlike the rest of the northern governorates that the militias controlled again less than two years after liberating them with the support of the Houthis. The Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia and the active participation of the UAE armed forces on the ground.

Abu Awdhel believes that the northern forces have reached a state where they do not think about liberating Sana'a from Iran's domination as much as they think about how to tighten their control over the south, which has come under the control of its sons and has been liberated and purged from the terrorist Houthi and Brotherhood militias with great sacrifices. Abu Awdhil does not rule out seeing northern alliances with the Houthis to launch a third war against the south, reiterating that it is not possible in any way to accept the return of Houthi rule, the Brotherhood, or any northern force, and that the southerners have charted their way to restore their independent state with full sovereignty on the pre-May 22, 1990 borders.

Abu Awdhel indicates, in the context of his interview with (NewsYemen), that the Southern Transitional Council was able, through the Southern Dialogue and the Charter of Honor, to achieve what the Yemeni legitimacy and the Saudi-led Arab Coalition failed to achieve for eight years, explaining that the Southern Transitional Council brought together all the southern powers under its umbrella. Thus, it constitutes the first Arab front to confront the ambitions of Iran and the conspiracies of the Brotherhood in the region.

Abu Awdhel recalled the statements of the leaders of the Southern Transitional Council, represented by the President of the Council and a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Major General Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, and then his deputy, Major General Faraj Al-Bahsani, which repeatedly confirmed that the south will not abandon its brothers from the northern governorates and will help them get rid of Iran's hegemony and its project that now covers All areas under the control of the Houthi militia.

He added, "While the transitional government extends its hand to support the north, we see some northern forces, especially affiliated with the Brotherhood, re-raising the slogan of unity or death, knowing that most of them live abroad and are not able to even return to their homes in militia-controlled areas, and some of them live among us and threaten us with death.

Bagash, too, believes that the Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia has made great efforts to unify the forces opposed to the Houthis, and the last of these efforts was the Riyadh Agreement, in which all forces on the ground were involved in the Presidential Leadership Council, which since its establishment on April 7, 2022, has provided nothing to the national battle other than threats and intimidation through data.

Bajash points out that the popular resistance, after its transformation into a regular army, did not achieve any victories for legitimacy. On the contrary, there were many setbacks, such as what happened in Ma'rib, Al-Jawf and Shabwa, adding that many northern forces are now thinking of arranging their situation financially and functionally away from the battle Salvation from Iran's arm, which millions of Yemenis are tired of waiting for.

Bagash believes that there can be no talk of any unity between the north and the south in light of Iran's continued domination of Sana'a.

He stressed that the national forces in the north must see in the southern national dialogue the beginning of a broad republican alignment to liberate the north from Iran's arm, pointing out in this regard that the southerners have made up their minds about the future of their state and that they will not accept even talking about the future of "unity" in light of the continued subjugation of Sana'a and the north under the control of the Houthis and the Muslim Brotherhood.

"Continuing to shift the battle compass towards the south serves only the Houthis, who continue to strengthen its influence," he said, pointing out that the north must benefit from the south's support in order to rid Sana'a of Iran's hegemony and restore the republic.
