The head of the Negotiations Affairs Unit, a member of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, Dr. Nasser Al-Khubaji, called on the brothers in the north to start negotiations in order to restore the two independent states that existed on the pre-22 May 1990 borders.
In a statement to the independent Aden Channel, he said on the sidelines of a festive event marking the anniversary of the "disengagement", that reality confirms the disengagement, and that unity is a lie and has ended forever.
He added, "Therefore we call on our brothers in North Yemen and that it is time to negotiate to restore the two independent states and preserve the remaining common interests and relations," stressing the pride of the southerners on this "historic and great" day, and that the struggle and march must continue until independence is achieved.
The local leadership of the Southern Transitional Council in the capital, Aden, and various southern governorates celebrated today the 28th anniversary of the declaration of disengagement on May 21, 1994, under the slogan "The people of the south affirm their demands to restore their land and the independence of their homeland - the south is for all and all its people."
