Taiz, NewsYemen, Muhammad Yahya:

The file "The Siege of Taiz" is one of the most important Yemeni files related to the greatest human tragedies, which bears witness to the criminality of the terrorist militia, which puts the UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, to a real test, revealing the extent of his ability to pressure the Houthi militia to end the siege imposed on the city 7 years ago.

The military siege of the Houthi militia turned the city of Taiz into a large prison, which caused a real human tragedy with the deterioration of the humanitarian and living conditions of millions of citizens in the densely populated governorate.

And last Monday, Sanaa Airport was opened to international flights, facilitated by the legitimate government, which had allowed the entry of oil derivatives ships to the port of Hodeidah under the terms of the declared UN armistice.

With regard to the item related to lifting the siege on Taiz, the Houthi militia refused to name its team to meet about opening roads and ports in Taiz, and presented new conditions about lifting the siege, which raised many fears that the militia could disrupt this important item in the armistice, and thus work to thwart the armistice agreement  As it happened in previous times.

The leader of the coup militia, Muhammad Ali al-Houthi, in a tweet on "Twitter", on Tuesday, set a number of conditions for opening roads in Taiz, saying: "Ending the fighting, raising positions on both sides, then opening the roads."

According to observers, the evasions of the Houthi militia in lifting the siege on Taiz do not confirm their seriousness to the success of the truce, and the restoration of confidence in the possibility of betting on any agreement that pushes towards comprehensive and final peace talks, after the widespread disappointment that resulted from the Houthi militia's failure of the Stockholm Agreement on the city of Hodeidah.

Analysts confirm that the Houthis are not the only ones who elude and refuse to lift the siege of Taiz, and that there are parties other than the Houthis who benefit from keeping the province under siege, and have refused to lift the siege since the launch of the Decisive Storm in 2015, because this will hinder its project, which takes the province as a focus for its launch.

Says politician and academic d.  Khaled Al-Shamiri, that the only person affected by the lifting of the siege on the governorate is the Taiz axis, the Brotherhood and Al-Qaeda who were taking advantage of that siege to impose taxes on citizens and merchants, as it brought them huge sums of money.

Al-Shamiri asserts that the Brotherhood is trying to hold on to the besieged environment that embraced them in Taiz for years, as it was a fertile center for their terrorist elements to breed and then export to the south.
