Aden, NewsYemen:

A prisoner was shot dead by the Houthi militia, during the latter's suppression of protests carried out by hundreds of prisoners and abductees in the central prison in the city of Hodeidah, western Yemen.

Houthi gunmen blew up a sharp dispute with juvenile prisoners and kidnapped civilians in the "Central Prison" in Hodeidah before using live fire to quell their anger.

Local and human rights sources stated that the Houthi militia aimed its weapons and fired live bullets at the prisoners directly, killing at least one prisoner and wounding another.

Human rights sources said that the prisoner, "Hisham Suleiman Al-Zubaidi", was actually killed after he was shot in the head by the militants of the Houthi leader, "Abu Haider Jahaf".

It explained that the armed elements of the Houthi leader who supervises the prison are stationed at the external gates, but they constantly bully the prisoners.
